PLAYS
(or how Jonathan sees the world )

From Mississippi Goddamn

CLAUDETTE: No. What I’m telling you is that this neighborhood has a lot of eyes and ears and those eyes and ears are Negro and what they see and hear they report back to white folks.

ROBBIE: What White folks?

CLAUDETTE: The White Citizens Council. The police. The Mississippi Sovereignty Commission. The Klan. It doesn’t matter. Pick your poison. It’s all the same thing.

ROBBIE: Negros report to the Klan?

CLAUDETTE: Some do. Not all. But some do. And some of them live on this very street.
            (Beat)
Maybe even in this very house.
